TS Video Player Privacy Policy

Effective 21 October 2026

At a glance

1Who we are

TS Video Player ("the app") is developed by MIA Tech Studio ("we", "us"). This policy explains what the app accesses on your device, what it stores, and what never leaves your device. You can reach us at the address in section 9.

2What the app accesses on your device

The app asks Android only for what it needs to find and play your videos. Each access is used on your device and nothing is uploaded.

AccessWhy the app uses it
Videos on your deviceTo list your videos by folder and play them. On Android 14 and later you can allow only the videos you select. On Android 12 and older this is the storage permission, used for videos only.
Folders you chooseIf you turn on hidden (.nomedia) folders in Settings, you pick a folder with Android's own folder picker. The app reads the videos in it, and renames or deletes a video only when you ask it to.
Subtitle filesSubtitle files next to a video, or a file you pick, are read to show subtitles.
Media management (optional)A special access you can grant in Android's settings. With it, deleting a video needs only the app's own confirmation instead of a second dialog from Android.
Background playbackWhen you turn on background playback, the app keeps playing with a media notification and lock-screen controls (a "media playback" foreground service).

Your videos, their file names and their contents are never sent anywhere by the app.

3What the app stores on your device

To work the way you set it up, the app keeps a small amount of information in its private storage on your device:

None of this is sent to us. You can remove it at any time: Settings → Clear Playback History removes saved positions, and clearing the app's storage in Android's settings or uninstalling the app removes everything except snapshots you saved to your gallery.

4Android backup

If backup is turned on for your device, Android may include the app's settings and playback history in your device backup. That backup is stored in your own Google account under Google's terms. We cannot see or access it. You can turn backup off in Android's settings.

5Feedback emails

Settings → Send feedback opens your email app with a new message to us. To help us fix problems, the message is pre-filled with technical details: the app version, your device's maker and model, the Android version, screen size, language, the selected decoder and memory use. It contains nothing else about you or your videos.

Nothing is sent unless you press Send in your email app, and you can edit or delete any of it first. If you send it, we receive your email address and what you wrote. We use them only to reply to you and to improve the app. We don't share them, and we delete them on request.

6No internet, ads or third-party tracking

The app has no network code and does not request Android's internet permission, so it cannot send data over the internet. It contains no advertising, analytics, crash reporting or tracking services. The open-source components it uses, Android's Media3 player and the FFmpeg audio decoder, run entirely on your device.

7Children

The app is not directed at children and does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under 13.

8Changes to this policy

If the app's handling of information changes, we will update this page and its effective date before that version of the app is released.
